Warner Robins, GA — NAMI Central Georgia is proud to announce a landmark partnership with Dr. Purvis and Resilient Minds Psychiatric Care of Middle Georgia to provide onsite psychiatric services for residents enrolled in NAMI Central Georgia residential programs. This collaboration marks a historic moment for mental health care in the region, positioning NAMI Central Georgia as the only mental health group home facility offering onsite psychiatric care and the only NAMI affiliate providing full wrap‑around psychiatric services across three levels of residential support: extended housing, transitional housing, and semi‑independent housing.
This innovative partnership reflects NAMI Central Georgia’s ongoing commitment to delivering person‑centered, comprehensive care that promotes growth, stability, and mental wellness. With an onsite psychiatrist, the organization can improve service outcomes by providing immediate crisis assessments, timely medication adjustments, and faster responses to urgent clinical questions.
Dr. Purvis has practiced psychiatry in numerous locations and settings in the area. These include Houston Medical Center and Houston Behavioral in Warner Robins, Piedmont Macon Hospital, Piedmont Macon Partial Hospitalization Program, Mercer Medicine Psychiatry, Central State Forensic Hospital, and the Oconee Center in Milledgeville.
Dr. Purvis earned his MD from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed four years of psychiatry residency training at Piedmont Macon Medical Centers, formerly Coliseum, in association with Mercer Medicine.
